Questions
Can't find what you need? Email support@sabrsoftware.com and a person answers. Sources: official health inspection records from state, county and city health departments.
Where does the data come from?
From the health inspection records each agency publishes: Florida DBPR, Division of Hotels and Restaurants; NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; New York State Department of Health and county health departments; Chicago Department of Public Health; Santa Clara County Department of Environmental Health; City of Boston Inspectional Services; Public Health – Seattle & King County; Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services; Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
Which inspections are included?
Routine and complaint inspections where the inspector cited one of the violation types you pick. Pre-opening and licensing inspections are left out, and so are Florida's follow-up visits.
How quickly do citations show up?
Most agencies publish within one to three days. New York State runs about a week behind, Santa Clara County posts weekly and LA County about once a month; their citations arrive as soon as they're published.
Will I get the same restaurant twice?
Not for the same problem within 30 days. If it's cited for something new, or again more than 30 days later, it comes through again.
Does a citation mean the restaurant is unsafe?
No. Each row is what the inspector recorded on that date. Many violations are corrected on the spot or at the follow-up.
Do you include owners' names or phone numbers?
No. We never include owners', operators' or staff names. The only phone is the business's own number, where the agency lists it (New York City and Santa Clara County).
Can I filter by ZIP code?
Yes: enter ZIP codes when you sign up. If none of your ZIPs is in one of your markets, you get that whole market. Reply to any email to change your list.
Can I use the data for screening or credit decisions?
No. We aren't a consumer reporting agency, and the data can't be used for credit, insurance, employment or housing decisions about anyone.
How do I cancel?
Anytime, from the customer portal link in every email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you've paid for.
